Press for Champagne at Bob Bob Ricard Soho - Is it still worth the hype?

Location: Soho
Price: £££
Overall: 4/5
Ideal for: Luxury Dining, Special Occasions, Oysters & Champagne

I enjoyed a indulgent lunch at the one and only Bob Bob Ricard in Soho, a place synonymous with glamour, bubbly and a press for champagne button at every booth. It’s a luxury experience that has everything you’d want from fabulous fine dining.

First Impressions

Walking into the art-deco, Gatsby-glam interiors—with its royal-blue booths, marble-topped tables, crystal chandeliers and that iconic champagne button—you instantly know this isn’t a typical Soho lunch spot. It’s theatrical, it’s decadent, and by lunchtime it still holds a luxe hush.

The Food

We kicked off in true BBR fashion with Oysters Mitterand served with parsley and garlic butter, perfectly briny and fresh, washed down with flutes of Champagne and interspersed with chilled vodka shots served at –18°C.

That frosty kick from the Zakuski and Vodka Shots set the tone for a playful (and boozy) lunch.

My Chicken, Mushroom and Champagne Pie was flaky pastry, tender chicken morsels in a creamy, mushroom-and-champagne-infused sauce. Comfort food elevated to fine-dining standards—utterly delicious.

Chateaubriand for One (28‑day aged Scotch beef) sadly, this didn’t hit the mark for me and the béarnaise couldn’t quite rescue it.

We balanced our table with sides of sautéed spinach—light, garlicky and well-seasoned—and proper French fries, golden and crisp.

For dessert we tried the Signature BBR Chocolate Glory, an epic spectacle of chocolate jivara mousse, brownie, passionfruit jelly and hot chocolate sauce—a sweet crescendo that earned its reputation . I really enjoyed this dish and would rank it as one of my faviourites from the meal.

We also tried the Strawberries & Cream Soufflé, airy, fresh and beautifully balanced with a strawberry coulis and warm pouring cream, a lighter, elegant finish .

Overall

Bob Bob Ricard is unapologetically glamorous: fun, flamboyant, and tailored for those looking to sip Champagne at the push of a button.

The luxe setting, the Champagne and vodka combo with oysters, and the desserts were my highlights from my meal.
