5 tips to create a fine-dining meal at home

Tips to make cooking easy Her Favourite Food

I usually spend a couple of nights a week eating out, but due to the current restrictions in place, all eat-in restaurants have now been closed and it’s important to stay at home.

But as I’ve been missing dining out, I been recreating the same experience at home! Here are my top tips to cooking a restaurant-style meal at home.

1. Start with a good recipe

To create a fabulous meal you need a great recipe and I’ve got a few recipe books that I stick by. My favourite is Atul Kochhar’s 30-minute Curries, as he’s recipes are quick and produce delicious results.

Cooking a good and authentic curry is sometimes seen as a long process, but with Atul’s tips you get the same results in a fraction of the time. There’s also a large number of vegetarian recipes which is useful when it is hard to source meat.

2. Use quality base ingredients

I find that quality ingredients always make a difference to the final dish. However these can sometimes be expensive and hard to find. As an alternative, I make sure the ingredients I use regularly in every meal are of a good quality.

Supernature’s infused oils are a brilliant addition to any home-cooked meal. They have a delicious variety on offer including lemon, chilli, dill, and my favourite - black truffle! Use as a dip for breads or drizzle over food to instantly create a luxurious feel to any dish.

3. Pair with luxury wine

No luxury meal is complete without good wine! Not only do Savage Vines members get amazing wines delivered to them on a subscription basis, but the Savage community also get access to fabulous perks including access to exclusive restaurant deals with some of London's hippest establishments and discounts on accommodation in wine regions all over the world.

Sign up to Savage Vines for great wine and A-list perks.

4. Cut out the shopping AND the prep work

With it becoming increasingly difficult to find the right ingredients for elaborate recipes in supermarkets, this is a great time to make use of recipe box delivery services.

Pasta Evangelist is one of my favourites. They deliver the ingredients for fresh, artisanal pasta dishes every week straight to your door. The kit includes all you need to make delicious luxurious pasta dishes at home, all in about 5 minutes!

I’ve tried quite a few of their pasta offerings and they have always been absolutely delicious. The great way to discover and cook the amazing tastes of authentic Italian pasta, without the hassle of preparation.
