I’m not one for new years resolutions and instead I like to try new experiences in order to keep fresh and motivated.

Once such new experience I recently tried was a taster Barre class at Blok in Shoreditch. Although I entered with very little experience, not only did I enjoy it so much that I signed up to take the classes regularly, but I also discovered the new range of Pure Leaf matcha they had on offer in their cafe!

After our Barre class we headed to the cafe for a revitalising breakfast. I sampled a Pure Leaf matcha iced latte and a creamy matcha vegan coconut porridge which was satisfyingly delicious! This breakfast was laid on as part of Pure Leaf’s #MovetoMatcha campaign and both the class and the breakfast made a perfect combination!

This healthy and nourishing breakfast led me to think about how I could incorporate more matcha into my mornings in order to revitalise my breakfast routine!

Not only is matcha the source of a variety of health benefits, it's also really easy to use and add to drinks and dishes. I really enjoyed my rejuvenating, nutritious matcha latte and decided to recreate it at home so I can enjoy it in the mornings before a busy day.

This fast and easy recipe compliments the leafy taste of matcha green tea powder with mint and honey for a flavour balance. I used Pure Leaf’s Matcha Mint sachets for this recipe, as it is delicately flavoured with all-natural, micro-ground peppermint leaves, which gives a cool refreshing twist on a traditional matcha latte. They are also available in pre-portioned wrapped sachets perfectly portioned for a cup of matcha, avoiding any wastage.

Matcha & Mint Latte Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pure Leaf Mint Matcha sachet

  • 3 tbsp warm water

  • 300ml of hot milk (or a dairy-free alternative)

  • 2 tsp honey

Matcha latte recipe

Method:

  1. Empty one sachet of matcha mint latte in to your mug

  2. Add the warm water and mix thoroughly with a spoon or small whisk until it is smooth and dark green, with no lumps.

  3. Warm the milk in a small saucepan and when ready pour into the mug

  4. Add the honey and mix thoroughly

  5. You can froth the milk with a whisk or milk frother to taste

  6. Your revitalising morning matcha and mint latte is now ready to enjoy!

This smooth and delicious latte gives me the perfect gentle caffeine boost I need in the mornings. When I need a pick-up-me I enjoy mine with French toast filled with fresh fruits for an extra boost of antioxidants.
