Himmapana Villas - Hills takes luxury villa to another level. I’ve stayed in a few private pool villas around the world, but Himmapana Villas certainly has the most luxurious feel and finish to it.

Location

Located in the hills in Kamala, Phuket, Himmapana Villas has various sites dotted around the area. We arrived at the reception for our group of villas and were quickly checked in by the friendly staff.

Although the villa is located in quite a steep, and hilly area, there is a handy free shuttle that guests can easily book to take them to and from the local beach and supermarket. The journey is very quick and takes less than 10 minutes. As a result the villa is actually very well located as Kamala beach is one of the most beautiful in the area, and it is surrounded by many restaurants, bars and markets where guests can easily spend the day.

Accommodation

We stayed in the Capucine villas, a beautifully designed set of villas made with luxury as a priority.

Our 3-bedroom villa offered an incredible 248sqm of space. Split over 2 storeys, the ground floor was comprised of a large open plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen, dining space and lounge/tv area. This led into the first en-suite bedroom and the only one on the ground floor.

The entire ground floor space is flooded with light, as it has floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the private pool, and lush green hills ahead. The well-sized outdoor pool is flanked by a sunken seating area, sunbeds and an outdoor shower too.

The stairway by the entrance leads to the first floor, which houses the impressive main bedroom. What makes this room especially memorable is a gorgeous bathtub located by the bed and large windows, allowing guests to soak up the magical views.

There is also a shower, dressing area and en-suite toilet and the uber-comfortable bed which looks up to a TV built into the ceiling. However I expect most guests will be mesmerised by the floor to ceiling views from the windows instead.

The is also a second en-suite bedroom upstairs, and both rooms have balcony access looking down onto the pool area. In this way the villa balances the feeling of privacy in each of the bedrooms well whilst still keeping them connected and easily accessible so that no one room is totally isolated.

What I loved about my stay here was waking up to stunning views of the lush hillside and watching the sun make its way up whilst cosy in bed with a cup of coffee.

The kitchen and dining area is also fantastic, as there is enough space to prepare a meal for a large group and enjoy it on the spacious dining table.

It is evident that a lot of thought has been given to the little things here, for examples there is enough cutlery and kitchen supplies to feed a large group; there is a large covered driveway which is ideal for those who rent a car or bikes; and there is even an iPad through which all the facilities can be browsed and booked.

I was also particularly impressed with how private the villa felt. Even though there it was located along a row of other villas, it still had a sense of privacy and seclusion to it.

Style & Decor

The villa has a very unified style which runs through each of the rooms. The decor is modern and fresh, with clean lines, classic lighting, bright colours and statement artwork in each room. I appreciated that the villa wasn’t a blank canvas and the owners had added some style and colour to it, as it made it feel more like a home during our stay.

Facilities

Himmapana Villas - Hills has a gym that is available to all guests, as well as the large private pools in each villa.

The shuttle service is fantastic and we used it everyday during our stay - though of course there is also the choice to book a grab via the app if the timings don’t work for you.

I was impressed with the iPad which had access to MyStay app, through we could book the shuttle, meals including breakfast hampers, excursions and more. Reception also use watsapp to communicate with guests if needed, which proved very efficient.

Overall

I was really impressed with Himmapana Villas - Hills, as our Capucine villa was both beautiful and practical. I can see large groups of friends or family easily spending 2 weeks here and really enjoying their stay.

The staff were always helpful and friendly and knew when to leave guests to their privacy. The location is also great for those who don’t feel the need to be directly by the beach, but can still access it within a matter of minutes via the shuttle.

I’m glad I had the chance to experience Himmapana Villas - Hills and would highly recommend it to groups visiting Kamala, Phuket.
