Camino Festive Menu - King’s Cross Review

Camino King's Cross set menu

Camino has long become one of my favourite everyday restaurants in London, due to the high quality ingredients, excellent service, and laid-back atmosphere. So when I discovered Camino was serving a special festive menu, I couldn’t wait to try it out!

We chose to dine at the King’s Cross branch of Camino, as it’s one of the bigger ones in London. Although the restaurant was busy with group bookings, we were promptly seated at our table ready with Christmas crackers!

Food?

Camino’s festive menu starts with four sharing plates, which include Gordal olives, Arua Ulloa (cheese fritters), tomato bread and Jamon Serrano, or Endive Salad for vegetarians.

I loved the Jamon Serrano, which is Duroc Serrano ham that has been air cured for 22 months. This gives it melt in the mouth texture that is simply irresistible.

For the main course, the festive menu offers either corn-fed chicken breast, or sauteed mushrooms and butterbeans as a vegetarian option. These are served with sides to shares with the table which include classic patatas bravas and padron peppers.

For those dining from the a la carte menu, we loved the tender Iberico lamb, served with Jerusalem artichokes, as well as Presa Iberica, their signature shoulder of Iberico pig served with roasted sweet potato puree.

Dessert on the festive menu is Torrija, egg-fried brioche served with a delicious turrón ice-cream. I also love the churros served with hot chocolate sauce.

To end the meal on a festive high we ordered Camino’s mulled wine, which was the perfect end to a delicious meal.

Price?

The festive menu at Camino is reasonably priced, with the three course set menu priced at £35 and the vegetarian alternative priced at £30. Drinks are an additional cost and cocktails cost around £10 each.

Overall?

Camino is an ideal setting for group dining, whether it be with family, friends or work colleagues. Their festive menu is also perfect for celebrating Christmas with a feast of delicious Spanish food!
