Review: Greek Lunch at The Life Goddess, Kingly Court

Review: Greek Lunch at The Life Goddess, Kingly Court

Style Points: ££
Price: £££
Overall: 3/5

Located in Kingly Court, The Life Goddess is perched on a second floor of this delightful area dedicated to dining out. On a sunny day the windows are opened out so that diners can partially dine al fresco if seated near the edge. The restaurant itself is decorated with an earthy feel, with flowers and foliage sweeping across the open kitchen area.

Would I Want Seconds?

I arrived at The Life Goddess for lunch with the lovely Monica from The Entertainer. Once settled or summer mocktails made their way to us and we ordered our meal.

We opted with The Argonauts Larder as a starter to share. They arrived in a large portion of honey glazed prawns with extra virgin olive oil, gram and fresh oregano. The prawns were deliciously moist and when added to the succulent dipping sauce this made a gorgeous tasting starter.

For my main course I tried Cicero’s Burger, a vegetarian chickpea and walnut burger seared in premium extra virgin olive oil and served with a salad made of fresh parsley, chillies and the signature smoked Greek yoghurt sauce. This has a delicious and heavy burger which I couldn’t finish after the starter too! After this we definitely didn’t have any space for dessert!

Could I Afford Seconds?

Once we were stuffed from our delicious meal. Monica used The Entertainer app to get us 2 for 1 on our main course which significantly brought down the price of the meal.

We dined from the special menu at The Life Goddess, but they also have an experimental menu and a tapas menu too. On average starters are priced at about £10 and main courses at £15 which although served in large portion sizes, the prices are more reflective of high end restaurants.

Overall?

The Life Goddess is a lovely place to come for lunch or for an early dinner in summer due to its location looking out onto Kingly Court. However the prices are slightly steep, especially compared to the cost of a meal at other restaurants in the the Square. Thankfully with the help of The Entertainer, venues such as this can be made even more accessible on a budget!
