But don’t let this get you down! You can relive those warm travel memories or remind yourself of your bucket-list destinations in your very own home. Fill your living space with pieces inspired by far-flung places for a holiday feeling all year round.

  • Upgrade your coffee routine

We all enjoy a hot drink in the mornings to start our day, and this is the perfect place to easily instil a holiday vibe. You can easily recreate the famous coffee cultures of abroad by using traditional cups and accessories that are used in coffee houses abroad. These beautiful handmade ceramic fincans (coffee cups) from Ozerlat hark back to the long-established Turkish coffee tradition.

Made using traditional techniques and exclusive designs, these fincans use ancient Ottoman art traditions to incorporate the motifs of the Golden Horn and Rumî.

I love starting my day with a cup of warming coffee served in these beautiful and authentic fincans, it takes me back to my travels through Turkey every time!

  • Use prints with multi-cultural influences

An easy way to add some travel inspiration to your home is by using fabrics in your living area which have multi-cultural influences.

This print throw from Flo and Joe has Moroccan influences and yet due to the mono-chrome colours it still works well with contrasting fabrics and shades.

Palm leaf is a trending print at the moment and Flo and Joe’s Vintage Palm Leaves Mural Wall Hanging is a beautiful addition to enliven any wall and work particularly well in hallways or above side-tables.

  • Add vintage accessories from abroad

Scaramanga specialise in historical vintage furniture from rural India and they offer a host of unique items for the home. My favourites include these multi-purpose wooden brick moulds, which were initially used to produce mud-bricks of local Indian homes. They can now be used for storage, for decoration, or even as wooden planters.

You can also bring a touch of India to your kitchen with Scaramanga’s kitchenware. I love their large wooden placemats which are great heat conductors and they look strikingly beautiful on any surface. All placemats are different in their designs, which means you are sure to get something unique every time.

Their beautiful Epsom tripod table is also ideal for displaying smaller trinkets that you’ve collected from your holidays. The gorgeous and sturdy minimalist tripod style table has distressed duck egg polka dots around the edge, brushed gold legs and a classic hold base, ideal for showcasing your precious travel items. It also makes a fabulous drinks table for creating exotic cocktails although sadly sandy beaches and sunshine are not included..!

  • Recreate the holiday scents with candles

Candalia offers a range of luxury candles and diffusers, many of which have fragrances which take inspiration from their love of travel. My favourites include Oud & Bois De Santal, which is packed full of Arabian oud, sandalwood and agarwood, and Fleur D'Oranger which reminds me of my travels through Valencia. Each Candalia candle is hand-poured and made to the highest quality, making this a great and effortless way to recreate travel memories.

The way you display your candles can also add to creating a travel-theme in your home. A beautiful candle lantern which is inspired by the lanterns of South East Asia can really lift a room. One of my favourites is this gold iron lantern from Flo and Joe, which makes candle light even more magical!
