Microplane Gourmet Series Dual Grater

I’m a perpetual fan for Mircoplane’s classic zesters and graters and have also recommended them in previous gift guides. This year Microplane have launches a new dual grater which is causing a buzz amongst foodies and celebrity chefs alike.

Microplane has combined its two of the most frequently used grating sizes – the fine blade and the coarse blade - to create this new grater.

The signature Microplane stainless-steel blades behave like extremely sharp knives to cut ingredients with precision rather than tearing or shredding like most stamped graters.

The blades ensure that food does not stick or block, but instead effortlessly slides along the cutting surface to produce perfect results every time while releasing all the natural aromas to enhance flavour.

An absolute must for preparing ingredients and creating gorgeous decorations perfectly, every day. This would make a practical and stylish gift for chefs, bakers and novices in the kitchen too.

Living Green Kitchen Storage Set

The new Typhoon Living range is fashionable, functional and ideal for foodies. I love the rich green range which offers storage containers and a bread bin.

These classy storage options are drawn from a one piece construction and made from carbon steel, meaning that it is extremely tough and durable as well as being lightweight.

The storage canisters are made with a sustainably sourced bamboo fibre lid, and feature an airtight seal to keep contents inside fresher for longer. They hold up to 1 litre capacity which is very generous, allowing you to store any kind of sugar, tea or coffee.

These are perfect for those with a compact kitchen as it helps keep things neatly stacked away.

Foodie Gifts for a Tastier Christmas

Rococo Christmas Collection

Rococo Chocolates’ are a year round favourite for me, and I certainly cannot resist them at Christmas!

This luxury chocolate range offers all the classics for Christmas – from chocolate truffle boxes to spiced artisan chocolate bars.

My personal favourites include Festive Salted Caramel truffles as these milk chocolate cocoa dusted truffles with a salted caramel centre are indulgent and ideal for sharing.

The Christmas nibbles are also popular, in particular their Winter Spiced Almonds and Cinnamon Nuts.

The traditional chocolate range is also still available over Christmas, and I’d recommend stocking up on the Chocolate wafer thins including the Sea Salt Blonde Chocolate Wafer Thins.

Rococo’s range is ideal for stocking fillers, after dinner chocolates, and luxury gifting too.

Available online from Rococco.

Torabhaig Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Torabhaig Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a relative newcomer to the whisky scene and one to take note of. The Distillery at Torabhaig is only the second ever licensed Single Malt Scotch Whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye.

Their second single malt release, Torabhaig Allt Gleann, is named for one of the spring water burns (streams) that feed the distillery, and it is the one I’d recommended trying, and gifting.

Aromas of heathery smoke honey and barley sugars are complemented by notes of vanilla and bonfire smoke. The notes of sweet spices make this a great post-Christmas lunch drink to settle into.

The Distillery at Torabhaig is only the second ever licensed Single Malt Scotch Whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye. The Excise Act of 1823 first sanctioned legal whisky distilling in Scotland almost 200 years ago, with the first licence on Skye being granted not long thereafter, so one could say it was about time.

Tracklements

Tracklements are a favourite in my household all year around, and especially so at Christmas.

Their new Festive Goodies box is packed with something to bring joy to everyone, including an irresistible Sticky Fig Relish, Cranberry, Port & Orange Sauce, the original Caramelised Onion Marmalade, Spiced Honey Mustard and Christmas Spice Chutney Le Parfait.

The range is still handmade in Wiltshire, abiding to traditional recipes, whilst buying the best quality ingredients sourced locally wherever possible to ensure the products taste as good as, if not better than, homemade.

An essential for every Christmas table, this is a gift worth buying for yourself too!

Available online from Tracklements.

A whisky that cannot be found anywhere else, this festive marriage brings together rich sherry-matured whisky from Blair Athol with elegant old grain from Strathclyde and Cameronbridge, classic Speyside malt from Glen Elgin and spicy new-oak-matured Linkwood to create a dram that’s packed with Christmas flavour.

Share it as a thoughtful gift with your favourite whisky lover or enjoy it after the turkey on Christmas Day.
