It’s the most wonderful time of the year when London’s best restaurants pull out all the stops to deliver magical food and tipples to let us know that Christmas is finally here. From festive afternoon teas to Christmas lunches and dinners, I’m posting a series of reviews featuring London’s Best Festive Menus. Next up is the Festive Thai Banquet at Mango Tree in Belgravia.
Celebrating the rich and unique flavours of Bangkok, Mango Tree is a Thai restaurant that offers fabulous Thai cuisine in the heart of Belgravia, close to Buckingham palace. The restaurant is spacious and bright with the decoration minimalist, keeping the focus on the wonderful array of Thai dishes.
As a change from the traditional Christmas lunch offerings, Mango Tree have a festive banquet, perfect to share amongst four people. There’s a choice between a meat and vegetarian set menu to please all tastes buds. Each set menu has a four starters, three mains, and one dessert, plenty to share amongst four people.
We tried the Vegetarian menu and it was a great change from the usual Christmas offerings. The starters included Diced Sweetcorn & Chestnut wrapped in Tofu Skin, French Bean Tempura with Basil Mayo, and Salt & Pepper Tofu.
The fried tofu had lots of flavour from the salt and pepper mixture and the French bean tempura was lightly battered to give it a lovely crunch whilst also retaining the fresh taste of the bean.
The mains include Stir-fried Tofu with Cashew Nuts, Dried Chilis & Spring Onion in Oyster Sauce, and Vegetarian Green Curry with Christmas Seasonal Vegetables. All the mains were incredibly unique and very tasty. I absolutely loved tasting all the different flavour combinations and the green curry was especially delicious with lots of aromatic spices and Thai herbs running through the dish.
To end the festive menu, the dessert is Coconut Mousse served with Raspberry and Thai Basil Sorbet. A lovely exotic and refreshing dessert to end the meal on a great high.

The Festive Sharing Banquet at Mango Tree for 4 or more people is priced at £45 per person. Enjoy a glass of Champagne and wine pairing per course for an extra £30 per person.
Overall?
This is a festive menu like no other and is a great alternative to the traditional Christmas fair. It’s also great value for money and available until 24th December so make sure to book a table whilst the Christmas cheer is high.
