Festive Afternoon Tea at Corinthia Hotel - London’s Best Festive Menus

The Crystal Moon Lounge at Corinthia Hotel London

It’s the most wonderful time of the year when London’s best restaurants pull out all the stops to deliver magical food and tipples to let us know that Christmas is finally here. From festive afternoon teas to Christmas lunches and dinners, I will be posting a series of reviews featuring London’s Best Festive Menus. First up is the Festive Afternoon Tea menu at The Crystal Moon Lounge in the Corinthia Hotel.

Corinthia Hotel Afternoon Tea

In the centre of the opulent and grand Corinthia Hotel is a gravity-defying Baccarat crystal chandelier with a 1,0001 individual pieces that illuminates the room like a full moon, mesmerising everyone that gazes upon it. This is The Crystal Moon Lounge and it is where the fabulous festive afternoon tea is served.

It’s simply a fabulous venue to leisurely enjoy afternoon tea and I especially loved hearing the soothing piano music played by the hotel’s extremely talented and friendly resident musician whilst we sipped out champagne. An enchanting and luxurious experience to say the least.

The Food?

We started with a delicious glass of Laurent-Perrier Champagne, available in brut or rose. Next, plated on gorgeous matching crockery, our Afternoon Tea started with is great selection of finger sandwiches. I loved the the festive Turkey and Cranberry, and the Truffle Egg Mayonnaise on Malted Granary Bread, as well as Salt Beef, Horseradish Cream and Watercress on Mediterranean Bread.

We then moved on to order tea from the selection of luxury teas from around the world, which also included coffees and indulgent hot chocolate too!

After filling up on sandwiches, as they offer top-ups if you’d like to try more, we moved on to the second course. This consisted of freshly baked scones were soft and buttery, served with clotted cream and strawberry jam and I especially loved the unique plum and whiskey jam!

Next up was the much anticipated dessert trolley! We had noticed it being wheeled around the Crystal Moon Lounge and couldn’t wait till it reached us.

Laden with delights, the trolley is wheeled to your table and each dessert is described as it is plated. This is where menu really shines with delicious treats including my favourites the Chestnut, Vanilla & Rum Tartlet and the Spiced Pineapple & Vanilla Éclair. There is also Chocolate-fleur De Sel, and fun marshmallows in exotic flavours including Coconut and Apple & Pine Marshmallows.

Each dessert not only looked stunning but also had unique flavours that all married together. You will be sure to be feeling in the Christmas spirit after you’ve sampled these delights.

Price

The Festive Afternoon Tea at The Corinthia is priced at £60 Per Person. With a glass of Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée Brut Champagne this is £70, and £80 for a glass of Laurent-Perrier Rosé Champagne.

This may seem steep but when considering the opulent decor, fantastic service and amazing food on offer, this is an experience that is well worth it!
