Avani Seminyak Resort Bali - Hotel Review

Location: Seminyak, Bali
Price: ££
Value for Money: 5/5
Overall: 5/5
Perfect for: Close to Seminyak Centre and the Beach

For those looking to spend time exploring Seminyak and the local beach, Avani is in the perfect location. The spacious and private villas are the ideal base to spend your time exploring the local area.

Location

Both Seminyak Beach and Seminyak Square are a convenient 5 minute drive away, and approximately 15 minute walk away. The hotel also provides a regular shuttle service if needed.

The airport is also located about 30 mins away (if there’s no traffic), which is perfect if you’ve just had a long flight.

Decor

Avani Seminyak Resort embraces the beautiful Balinese weather and many communal areas are formed of open spaces rather than closed off rooms. This includes the reception and the restaurant too.

There is Balinese inspired art dotted along the lounge and restaurant, and the hotel embraces nature, making it a lush and green space to stay in.

Accommodation

The accommodation at Avani Seminyak is composed of villas with private pools. We stayed in a one-bedroom pool villa which was large and comfortable. A walk along the pathway led us to the front door of our villa, which opened up to our private pool, a bedroom with en-suite shower and bath, and a separate living space with a small kitchen, as well as another small bathroom.

The villa provides total privacy due to the high walls and you can spend an entire day here without having to leave.

Dining

The poolside restaurant and bar, Groove, serves breakfast, as well as an all-day dining menu with a mix of Indonesian and Western dishes.

We dined here for lunch and dinner during our stay and enjoyed the varied menu which allowed us to try different dishes. I particularly enjoyed the Indonesian dishes, such as the chicken silit and lumpias.

The staff here were always friendly and accommodating, especially Wijaya who normally mans the restaurant.

There is also the option of in-room dining for those who don’t want to leave the privacy of their space.

Breakfast

There are various options for breakfast at Avani Seminyak Resort, all of which are worth a try.

Breakfast is normally served in Groove restaurant and there are a few set menus to choose from, each of which include fruit, juice, tea or coffee, pastries and eggs.

Alternatively, you could try the floating breakfast in your private pool, which is a lovely experience. The staff will prepare a beautiful breakfast platter according to your tastes and prepare it for you to enjoy by your pool. We really enjoyed this experience, as it allowed us to have a leisurely morning in our villa.

You can also order breakfast in bed, which is another indulgent experience that is a must try during your stay. A tray of your choice of breakfast items will be delivered to your to be enjoyed at you leisure. Considering the large size and space of the rooms, this is a great option, so you have space to spread out if needed.

Cooking Class

Avani Semiyak have a range of activities for guests to try, one of which is the Balinese Cooking Class.

We tried this experience one afternoon during our stay and really enjoyed the opportunity to learn from Chef Reza. Chef was able to explain the local ingredients, how to prepare them and how best to serve the dishes too. We were able to create a delicious three course meal in the space of a few hours and enjoyed our menu for lunch.

Facilities

As well as the private pools in the villa, there is also a large pool lined with day beds which is a nice alternative. The restaurant is right by this pool which means you can have a leisurely bite for lunch whilst enjoying the pool too.

There is also a small gym, and laundry room which is complimentary for guests.

Overall

Avani Seminyak Resort is the ideal hotel for those looking to stay in a private villa close to Semiyak and the airport. Due to the location and style of accommodation, the hotel is well suited to families, and groups.

What stood out to me in particular during my stay at Avani Seminyak Resort, was the genuine friendliness of the staff, who were always ready to help in any way possible. By the end of our stay it felt like we were saying goodbye to friends we had made during our trip.

I would recommend Avani Seminyak Resort for its ease of access, and convenient location, and wonderful staff.
