Foodies Festival Christmas

The Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane - 28, 29, 30th November Foodies Festival, the UK's largest celebration of food and drink, launches its first ever Foodies Festival Christmas at The Old Truman Brewery on 28-30th November 2014.

The event promises a host of highlights including celebrity chefs, London's top street food,hands-on baking classes, cookery classes for kids and live music and entertainment. Michelin star chefs Robert Ortiz of LimaTony Fleming of Angler and Ernesto Paiva of Bubbledogs will inspire festival-goers to create the perfect festive feast this Christmas with cooking demonstrations in the Chefs Theatre.

Other top chefs include The Bluebird’s Matt Robinson and 2013 Masterchef winner Natalie Coleman. For those who prefer eating to cooking, an outdoor Street Food Courtyard serves up some of London’s best street food including Up in my Grill, and The Free Ranger, which festival-goers can tuck into at the neighbouring Feasting Tent.

In keeping with the history of the venue, organisers have also added a new Craft Beer and Spirits Theatre, where visitors can enjoy artisan beers, gin and whisky with experts. A Wine and Champagne Theatre will also offer food and drink pairing master class with Neil Phillips and Charles Metcalfe who will also advise on the best wines and champagnes to buy this season.

Other exciting new features include a Producers Grotto packed with local artisan produce to sample and have gift wrapped, as well as an international Cheese Village with award winning cheese-makers, and a Vintage Tea Room with live jazz and swing music.

The Cake and Bake Theatre invites home bakers to take a master class with 2012 Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite and series 4 Bake Off favourite Glenn Cosby.

There are also free hands-on master classes in cake decorating and icing, where participants can learn sugar craft skills and decorate edible treats to hang on the Christmas tree at home.

And if that’s not enough The Apprentice contestant Daniel Lassman hosts a daily Christmas Bumper Quiz which visitors can register to take part in throughout the day. Festival-goers can also learn how to dance with ceilidh dancing lessons and enjoy carols and live music on the Acoustics Stage.

With all this is store for visitors, the Foodies Festival Christmas promises to be a hub of foodie festivities as well as an ideal event to attend in the run up to Christmas.
