World's End Market restaurant review

Located on Chelsea's famous Kings Road, World's End Market is an equally famous restaurant and high-end pub, serving classic British food using the market’s freshest ingredients.

The decor at World’s End Market resembles a chic 1930’s venue; spread over three floors, this set-up encapsulates the restaurant's history and heritage. There is also a meat fridge area and fish counters, which emphasize the restaurant's market atmosphere and also showcases the fresh ingredients.

What’s on the menu?

The varied menu at World’s End Market includes seafood, meats and a wide-range of fresh vegetables.

After sampling a few delicious cocktails from the Old Fashioned Bar, we ordered starters including a delectable goat's cheese croquette with pickled beetroot and honey truffle dressing. We also tried the charred octopus, eggplant puree, chorizo oil and creamy feta cheese in which the different flavours combined beautifully to create an exquisite dish.

The quality of the starters set high standards for the main course. We decided to sample the meat from the menu and ordered lamb chops and British ribeye steak. As red meat and, in particular, steak, is a speciality of World’s End Market, both dishes were simply but exquisitely cooked.

We then moved onto dessert and tried the homemade apple crumble served with vanilla ice-cream as well as the hazelnut and caramel cheesecake

Price?

World’s End Market is a high-end restaurant located in the heart of Chelsea and the prices reflect this. Our meal for 2 including drinks came up to approximately £150. However, the quality of the food and the exclusive nature of the venue somewhat justify the inflated prices.

Overall?

World’s End Market is a restaurant worth visiting, especially due to its plush location, quality cuisine and friendly customer service. My favourite course was the starters and the flavours presented in the two dishes we tried were not surpassed by the rest of the meal.

If you find yourself in the area, World’s End Market would also make a great stop for drinks at their Old Fashioned Bar.

A special thanks to World's End Market for being great hosts.
