B’acino Wine Bar restaurant is a gem of a restaurant nestled in the back streets of Shoreditch. 

Opened just a few months ago, this cosy, atmospheric wine bar and restaurant offers not just an extensive list of unique fine wines, but a delicious menu of tapas dishes too. The food is fresh, homemade and inspired by chef Mirko's Italian roots.

What’s on the menu?

We started our meal at B’acino with a bottle of Prosecco as we mused over the menu and attempted to limit our choices, as all of the dishes looked delicious. 

Following the advice of ordering between 2 to 3 dishes to share, we finally opted for halloumi fries with yoghurt dressing, pomegranate and mint and chicken croquettes with beetroot béchamel to start. Both dishes were well made and it was the garnish in particular that added an extra irresistible spark to the flavours.

We then tried the delicious homemade artichoke ravioli with Spanish cream and parmesan as well as the crispy pork belly served with mostarda di frutta which complimented the pork belly perfectly. We also had ribeye steak tagliata and triple cooked potatoes with chili mayo on the side.

Finally, for dessert, we were intrigued by the gnocchi stuffed with Nutella, which came served in a large metal martini glass with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles on top. This was the perfect dessert to finish the meal with as it wasn’t too heavy and easy to finish when shared between two.   

Price?

The menu at B’acino is composed of tapas style sharing dishes, which cost between £7 - £12 each. However as the portions are of a good size, each diner would only need to order between 2 to 4 dishes, meaning the price won’t add up to too much.

Overall?

B’acino means little kiss in Italian, and the restaurant and staff have a welcoming and intimate vibe that certainly ascribes to this. I’m glad I’ve discovered B’acino wine bar and restaurant, a little haven serving classic dishes away from the trend-crazed crowds of Shoreditch.
