Baan Saitara - Private Villa in Koh Samui

Location: Koh Samui
Price: ££
Value for Money: 5/5
Overall: 4/5
Perfect for: Large Groups, Stunning Views

If you're travelling to Koh Samui with a large group and looking for somewhere you can all stay together, then Baan Saitara is the place for you.

These spacious villas are ideal for groups and large families looking to unwind, or celebrate, in a large space of their own.

Location

Located in Lamai, on the South East of the island, the airport is about a 40 minute drive away.

We arranged our airport transfer with the villa, and the driver conveniently dropped us directly outside our villa. As we arrived late in the evening, we didn’t have a check-in process but the villa was ready for us with the keys in the door.

The breath-taking sea views are the first thing you notice when you enter the view. The location of Baan Saitara, upon quite a high and steep hill, means the views are impeccable.

There aren’t any shops walking distance from the villa, and you’d have to navigate quite a steep climb if you did try. However there are plenty of options in the vicinity which guests visit via taxi, or order on a food delivery app such as Food Panda and Grab.

Accommodation

Baan Saitara is composed of 10 self-contained villas, which are all very spaced out from each other, so you won’t bother, or even notice the neighbours.

Each of the villas have private outdoor swimming pools, facing the stunning Gulf of Thailand as a backdrop. We loved swimming in the pool in the mornings and relaxing on the daybed in the late afternoon. Its easy to spend most of the day on the terrace with the gorgeous view and pool.

The ginormous living space also makes the most of the views by utilising floor to ceiling windows, letting in lots of natural light.

As well as the large, open space living space complete with seating and dining area, there is also a fully equipped kitchen with utensils and dining ware too. Baan Saitara also provides bottled drinking water daily which they’ll stock in your fridge for you.

The villas can house up to 10 people, and our villa had 4 bedrooms, 3 of which were en suite with showers. All of the rooms were spaced out in the villa and felt like individual rooms. There certainly isn’t a fear of a tight squeeze here and all guests will have their own space.

Facilities

Although the Baan Saitara doesn’t offer any communal facilities outside of what is in the villa, there are add-ons which can be included at an additional cost.

For example guests can book a private chef, in-villa massages and car rental.

There are also several dining options within a 5-minute drive and there is a shuttle service to and from designated areas for an additional cost.

Overall

I couldn’t believe the amount of space the villas at Baan Saitara offer. Pair this with the beautiful panoramic sea views and you have the perfect settings for a group holiday.

I really enjoyed my stay here, particularly enjoying a morning coffee on the outdoor terrace and trips to Lamai Beach, which is about 10min drive away.

This is the ideal location for groups of friends, or families who want space for themselves to celebrate, or just unwind.
