I couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate Afternoon Tea week then the venue that is famed as the birthplace of Afternoon Tea itself! The Palm Court at The Langham London has been serving tea on Regent's Street since 1865. As a result of this rich historical context, it is deemed one of the best in London.

The Langham Hotel itself is a beautiful architectural building that stands out on the corner of Regents Street. Afternoon Tea is served in the Palm Court, a lavish dining room decorated in gold, grey and rose pink touches, completed with a pianist playing in the middle of the room.

Food?

Afternoon Tea started with a delicious glass of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut Champagne after which we enjoyed a selection of finger sandwiches, which included Burford Brown egg, marinated artichoke, rosemary bread, Classic English cucumber, cream cheese, chives, Scottish smoked salmon, cocoa rye bread, preserved lemon and Classic ‘prawn cocktail’, iceberg, potato bun, tomato powder.

Next came a election of exquisite pastries inspired by Wedgwood collections. These included Paris Brest - crunchy choux pastry, lightened pecan cream and caramelised pecans and Simply Shot- ultra creamy cheesecake with fig and blackcurrant compote, cinnamon and brown.

This was followed by the final course of classic and raisin scones, served with divine Cornish clotted cream and strawberry preserve.

Overall?

The Palm Court at The Langham was winner of the Best Tea Service at the Afternoon Tea Awards 2018 and it is evident why. This is a luxury experience which is an ideal destination to celebrate any special occasion.
