Ceru and it's distinctive Eastern Mediterranean flavours has already made it’s previous pop-up restaurants a great success and their newest location is set in the financial heart of London.

Ceru’s food is vibrant and healthy and is best enjoyed when it is shared between friends, family, work colleagues or fellow bloggers, who were my company for a lovely evening meal!

Would I Want Seconds?

Ceru promised a Levantine feast and that is exactly what they delivered. We ordered cocktails to start and tired the vibrant Passionistas and cooling Mojitos.

We started our meal in the traditional way with fresh Greek pitta bread and a selection of dips including hummus, fadi, which was made of fried baby courgette purée with tahini and my favourite, the vivid ref pancar made with roast beetroot, yoghurt, garlic and pistachio nuts. We then moved onto warm platters of herbed zucchini fritters and chermoula roasted aubergines, the flavours in both of which were delicious.

For our main course we tried their signature dish, slow cooked lamb shoulder with shawarma spices. The lamb was beautifully tender and the addition of ruby red fresh pomegranates and pistachios added a sweet crunch to the dish. Needless to say we finished the whole platter!

Finally, for dessert we were treated to vanilla ice cream baklava with roast nut brittle and burnt honey caramel served in tempting glasses. These were irresistible and provided the perfect end to a stunning meal.

Can I Afford Seconds?

Although the quality of the food at Ceru is very reasonably priced. Starters and salad are around £5 and there is nothing on the menu above £10, including their speciality slow roast lamb shoulder with sharwarma spices, which is priced at £9.50.

Ceru also offer takeaway toasted lunch wraps for around £5 each, and their breakfast toasted wraps are around £3.

I’ve been a fan of Ceru ever since their first pop-up, and this latest branch in Cannon Street is just as good. The quality of food, richness is flavour and affordable pricing mean I will be making the most of Ceru before their pop-up comes to a close early next year.

Ceru are also offer a Festive Levantine Banquet for Christmas bookings, the perfect excuse to give the restaurant a try this season!
