Summer Sky Riviera, Searcys at The Gherkin

Restaurant review: Searcys at The Gherkin, London

Style Points: 5/5
Price: £££
Overall: 4/5

This summer Searcys at The Gherkin has been transformed into a Summer Sky Riviera pop-up themed on the French Riviera and the glamour of the Cote d'Azur.

Located on the 40th floor and with 360 degree panoramic views of London's stunning skyline, visitors are greeted with sun loungers, olive trees, and even a  temporary village market referencing the quintessential 1950s summer scene of high-end holidaying.

This stunning space is usually reserved for members only, but has been opened up to the public over the summer.

What's on the menu?

The bar area where the pop-up is based is located at the top of the Gherkin, above the restaurant, and as a result the food menu is limited. Visitors are able to snack on fresh oysters or a selection of authentic cheeses and charcuterie bites which is what we tried. The highlight is the cocktails, including Searcys' signature champagnes and bespoke cocktails.

Could I afford to dine here again?

Searcys at The Gherkin is a high end destination and the prices reflect this. Our snack board cost approximately £12 per person, as did the cocktails. However this is the expected price to pay for a luxury venue like Searcys at The Gherkin.

Overall?

Last year’s Sky Riad pop-up was more glamourous but this year’s Summer Riviera sky bar has more of a cool, relaxed feel to it.

Overall, Searcys at The Gherkin is ideal for those wanted to spent a warm summer evening spent with  bespoke cocktails, champagne and unforgettable London views. Heading to Searcys at The Gherkin has become a sort of summer tradition and I can’t wait to see what theme next summer will bring!
