Pan-Fried Gammon - Festive Recipes

Pan Fried Gammon - Christmas Recipes

The festive season is upon us and and one of the best things about this time of year is the Christmas food!

But there’s no need to wait till Christmas day to cook up a festive feast. Here is a delicious and easy gammon recipe that will get you in the mood for the big day!

This recipe takes only 20 minutes to cook, and the succulent gammon can be served alongside sweet potato wedges and stir-fried broccoli for added crunch.

Cooking time: 20mins
Serves 2 people

Ingredients:

  • 2 gammon steaks

  • 250 gram of small sweet potato

  • 1 broccoli

  • Salt and pepper for seasoning

Recipe:

1. Roast the wedges

Chop the sweet potato into 1cm thick wedges and place onto a lined baking tray. Drizzle with oil and season with salt and pepper.  Roast until soft and golden, this usually takes 15-17minutes.

2. Prep and cook the broccoli

Chop the broccoli into small florets. In a frying plan add a tablespoon of oil and heat. Add the broccoli and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry until tender, this usually can take about 4-5 mins.

3. Cook the gammon

Heat a tablespoon of oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. When hot, lay in the gammon steaks and brown for 1 minute on each side. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for a further 3-4 mins on each side.

4. Serve and enjoy

When the wedges are ready, plate them up alongside the gammon. Spoon any resting juices over the gammon for added flavour. Serve the broccoli alongside this and ENJOY!
