Côte at Home - Bring the Restaurant to You!

Côte at Home - Food Delivery Review

Cuisine: French
Price: ££
Overall: 5/5
Delivery: Mainland Britain

The one thing I am missing the most is dining out at restaurants and having delicious, expertly prepared meals set on my table for me to enjoy - all without worrying about the washing up!

Luckily, French restaurant chain Côte Brasserie have adapted to the current situation and now offer Côte at Home, a delivery service offering freshly prepared, restaurant quality meals sent straight to your door.

All the french-inspired meals can be cooked effortlessly, even in the smallest kitchens by usually baking in an oven or grill. They also offer a full menu, including sides and dessert and wine too! This seemed like exactly what I was looking for, so I gave it a try!

Food?

For my Côte at Home meal I ordered a few dishes to try, as the menu looked very tempting! I received an email letting me know when my delivery was going to be made, and it came well within the allocated time slot.

I tried the poulet grillé which included chargrilled butterflied chicken breast with wild mushroom, cream and thyme sauce and a side of gratin potato. It was evident that the chicken breast was of a high quality as it was juicy and full of flavour. The gratin potato complimented the dish perfectly and added a richness to the dish.

We also tried the chicken and bacon parmentier, cooked with leek, creamy wholegrain mustard sauce and topped with potato purée and Comté cheese. This was a deliciously decadent dish full of classic French flavours.

We also sampled the traditional beef bourguignon, with bacon lardons and chestnut mushrooms, perfect enjoyed with a side of buttery smooth potato purée.

Dessert:

Dessert was next and we couldn’t wait to dig in! I tried the chocolate mousse, served at room temperature rather than chilled, and it was fabulous! I’ve never had a mousse so silky and smooth, and it was very easy to finish it off!

We also tried the crumble aux pommes, served with double cream. This traditional recipe had a crumbly top and moist center full of apples and cinnamon - a great way to end a fantastic meal!

Drinks:

Côte at Home also delivery wine and soft drinks alongside the food, and so provides everything you need for the meal. They offer a range of red, white and rose wines, as well as traditional French cider and beer, or Champagne and sparkling wine for those celebrating!

Price?

I was particularly impressed by the price range of the dishes on offer at Côte at Home. The majority of the main courses serve 2 people and cost between £10-£14, which is very reasonable for a high-quality meal that serves 2. The starters and desserts are also well-priced at between £5 - £6.

This means that a three course meal for two works out at very good value for money, especially as the portions are decently sized too.

Overall?

French food isn’t something I can easily cook up in my kitchen, which means that this offering from Côte at Home is ideal for me. The chilled meals were all easy to bake and tasted decadent, delicious and definitely of restaurant quality.

I was particularly impressed with the portion size and price range, both of which were great value.

Additionally all meals are prepared at Côte’s own kitchen, which enforces strict safety measures that includes the wearing of masks, gloves, and supervision by an in-house food safety expert.

Ideal for a date-night or celebration, I’ll certainly be making the most of Côte at Home until the restaurants open up again.
